Vehicle-to-Vehicle Collisions
Mr. Wilson most recently spoke at the ARC-CSI EDR Summit in 2017. The featured topic was occupant kinematics and airbag deployment timing. The basis of this presentation was an in-depth look at occupant kinematics associated with timely and delayed airbag deployments. Case studies were presented in which crash data from airbag control modules were employed to highlight the effect of timely and delayed airbag deployments on occupant kinematics.
Mr. Wilson also has been involved in joint research with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the National Crash Analysis Center (NCAC) at George Washington University. This research involves fully instrumented crash tests with the following impact configurations:

-
Vehicle-to-vehicle rear impacts
-
Vehicle-to-vehicle side impacts
-
Vehicle-to-vehicle multiple front impacts

-
Occupant entrapment
-
Occupant kinematics
-
Vehicle crush stiffness
-
Collision pulses
